In collaboration with the Civil Society of French-Language Publishers (SCELF), the internationally renowned screen adaptation brand “Shoot the Book!” is making its debut in Taiwan! Shoot the Book! TCCF has handpicked books with potential for screen adaptation and international appeal, showcasing a rich variety of genres and themes.
Among the selected works are popular mystery and thriller stories featuring unique and refreshing characters, such as a cocooning young man with the superpower to see death signals who takes on a criminal organization; a disabled, mute, and blind girl who holds key evidence in a park murder case; a child prodigy detective who investigates grotesque cases of human combustion and arson-murder; and a suspenseful wife-murder case set on a small island.
The lineup also includes a lighthearted comedy exploring the emotional and sensual needs of elderly women through a piece of lingerie; a touching family drama spanning wartime and social class barriers; a romance from 30 years ago revealed through a mysterious manuscript; and a fantastical comic book featuring super-teenagers cursed by the Chinese zodiac. With five French books and three Taiwanese books, we hope to present fresh and diverse narratives, and look forward to the creation of more outstanding film and television adaptations!
