Do you enjoy horror films? The mysterious and eerie atmosphere of horror draws audiences into a breathtaking narrative space. Curious about how these themes are created and how they reach global audiences? In this session, we have invited Thai horror film director Banjong PISANTHANAKUN and Japanese horror master TAKA ICHISE as speakers, with Taiwanese director Lester HSI of "The Bridge Curse" as the moderator. They will come together to share their personal experiences and discuss the creative process behind building horror elements and narrative concepts.

This session will feature Anne-laure TO, Art Director of the animated series "Arcane", and Crystal KUNG, who worked on Pixar's "Inside Out 2" and is now with Studio MDHR. They will share how color is utilized in animation production to guide audience emotions and establish the tone of the story. The discussion will cover topics such as color scripts, character design, and cross-departmental collaboration, providing insights into the practical experience and creative journey behind the art of animation.

Keynote
A highly anticipated star producer is coming to Taiwan! This session will feature PD NAH, the mastermind behind popular variety shows such as "Earth Arcade", "Youn's Kitchen", "2 Days & 1 Night", and "New Journey to the West". He will share his thoughts on today's variety show productions, bringing his unique vision and boundless creativity to the discussion. As a producer, PD will also offer his observations and insights on the trends in the variety show market.

Lester HSI is a Taiwanese film and TV director. An alumnus of the Graduate School of Multimedia and Animation Arts, National Taiwan University of Arts, he founded D-Day Pictures in 2020, aiming to connect and develop film and television markets across Asia.He made his feature directorial debut in 2020 with "The Bridge Curse" and released its sequel, "The Bridge Curse: Ritual", in 2023. That same year, he launched "Gourmet Affairs", Taiwan's first culinary crime-action series.
Banjong PISANTHANAKUN first made a name for himself with his feature debut, "Shutter" (2004), which was critically acclaimed in both domestic and international markets. Since then, he has found success with films such as the award-winning "Alone" (2007), horror-comedy omnibuses "4bia" (2008) and "Phobia 2" (2009), and the hit rom-com "Hello Stranger" (2010). With his signature comedy with horror overtones and sharp dialogue, Banjong made history with "Pee Mak" (2013), which became the highest-grossing Thai film of all time with 1 billion baht in worldwide revenue and 10 million admissions.
Banjong puts his achievements down to hard work and is always taking up new challenges. His latest directorial work is "The Medium" (2021), a Thai-Korean co-production produced by NA Hong-jin. He then stepped up and took on a producer role for the film "You & Me and Me" (2023).
Taka ICHISE is a renowned Japanese producer, best known for pioneering J-horror through films like "Ringu" (1998) and "Ju-On: The Grudge" (2003). Ichise has produced over 70 films across Japan, US, France, China, Korea, and Taiwan. His work brought Japanese horror to global attention, with English-language remakes like "The Ring" and "The Grudge" becoming box-office hits. Ichise has also produced a variety of international films and series, including the Chinese series "Meteor Garden" (2008), the Taiwanese film "The Bride" (2015), and the Netflix series"JU-ON: Origins" (2020).
Charles C. Lee's passion for art and film was evident from an early age, which led him to pursue his M.S. degree in multimedia and computer graphics from the University of Southern California and a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in the UK. His expertise in these fields enabled him to establish TWR Entertainment in 2010 with the goal of incorporating advanced graphics technologies into media productions.
Over the past decade, Charles has been involved in over 120 film and TV series productions, primarily focusing on production design, art design, and visual effects. His exceptional work has been widely acclaimed by audiences, and he has received multiple nominations for Best Visual Effects at the prestigious Golden Horse Awards.
In 2018, Charles founded "The Wonder Robot", a subsidiary of TWR Entertainment dedicated to creating original content. He directed a fantasy thriller series entitled "The Black Box" in 2024 and a pilot episode for a fantasy series called "909" in 2022. Charles' innovative approach to storytelling and visual effects has earned him a reputation as a highly skilled and creative professional in the film and entertainment industry.
Anne-laure TO has been working for the past 20 years as a visual development artist and matte painter for feature films, 3D and 2D animated movies, animated series, and advertisements. She graduated from the leading animation school Gobelins, and the visual art school L'école Estienne in Paris. Specialties: Visual development, Backgrounds, Matte painting.
Crystal KUNG is a Taiwanese artist based in Bay Area. She works as character designer and visual development artist in Blue Sky Studios, Pixar Animation Studios and Studio MDHR. Besides animation, she also works on illustration and graphic novels.
NAH Yung-suk is a South Korean television producer and director. He is best known for producing the popular variety-reality shows "2 Days & 1 Night", "New Journey to the West", "Grandpas Over Flowers", "Three Meals a Day", "Youn's Kitchen", "Jinny's Kitchen", "Earth Arcade", and their spin-offs.
