The Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF) capped off its second hybrid edition with over 30 thousand attendees, over 20 thousand live-stream viewers, with an estimated USD 36 million (NTD 1 billion) worth of deals sealed throughout the five days of Market, Forum, Expo, and side events (NEXT Academy and Garden Mingle - Field Practice). TAICCA CEO Izero LEE stated, “The second year of TCCF consisted of three pillars, The Market for matchmaking, pitching, showcasing, and networking; The Forum for industry trends and insights; and The Expo for presenting Taiwan’s most impressive and innovative immersive content to the world.”“We also included two side events, NEXT Academy and Garden Mingle - Field Practice, to showcase the innovative ways to implement technology into content development and musical performances, while promoting the artists that participated in Midem through TAICCA’s partnership,” he added. LEE emphasized TAICCA’s conviction to build TCCF into the leading content market in Taiwan and Asia while showing Taiwan as a leader in immersive content to attract more local and international professionals to attend.

Undeterred by COVID-19, The Market showed continued growth in Taiwan’s content market

2021 TCCF Market saw over 130 companies participating, over 800 works presented, and over 750 buyers from 24 countries or regions in-person and online. The brand-new IP Meetup platform had over 500 buyers registered, allowing local and international buyers to view the content presented by each company and arrange meetings 24/7. Continuing last year’s success with Pitching & Showcase, over 60 projects were presented at seven themed sessions, along with seven new series and one film announced during the three-day market, indicating the prolific growth of Taiwan’s content industry despite the impacts of the pandemic.

50 industry experts delivered insights at The Forum

The Forum took an interdisciplinary approach to spotlight Taiwan’s critical advantages in content production and emphasized the influences and opportunities of the latest industry trend, the “metaverse.” Segmented into ten sessions, the speakers brought unique perspectives on different facets of the industry from the metaverse to theater, OTT services, IP adaptation, fashion, NFT, the future of entertainment, and more.

The Expo fulfilled the imagination of the metaverse with the best of Taiwan’s immersive content experiences

Themed “Metaverse Playground,” The Expo collaborated with international immersive content festivals (Ars Electronica and Kaohsiung Film Festival) and 5G VR Cloud technology to bring 15 immersive projects and more than 30 thematic activities. Besides the Immersive Events, the Exhibition & Salons were also a popular attraction for visitors of all ages to join in on the imagination of the future of the content industry.

NEXT Academy and Garden Mingle - Field Practice rounded off TCCF with a celebration of tech innovations, musical performances, and culture

To demonstrate technology innovations in the content industry, NEXT Academy showcased seven projects ranging from animation, film, movies, music, immersive theater, and photogrammetry supported by TAICCA.Integrating spatial, visual, musical, yoga, talks, marketplace, and other recreational experiences, Garden Mingle - Field Practice transformed the historic Baroque Garden at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park into a magical garden for a three-day celebration of Taiwan’s diverse culture.
